EPIDEMIOLOGIC STUDIES WITH BIG DATA

• Using the MIDAS database with 16 million longitudinally linked admissions of all cardiovascular patients in New Jersey with ICD-9 and ICD-10 diagnoses and procedure codes, for example: Predicting the order of occurrence of Heart Failure and Atrial Fibrillation; Recurrence of Atrial Fibrillation among those who had ablation; Hispanic Paradox in New Jersey.
• Skilled Data Analyst using Statistical Software: SAS with ability to interpret.
  • Extensively used the following data analysis methods
    • Linear and Logistic Regression
    • Hierarchical Models
    • Factor Analysis and Principal Component Analysis
    • Multivariate models of longitudinal data using and Conditional Logistic

• Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) collaborative study on Coronary Heart Disease, Vellore - a multi-center study
• Leprosy Control Program (LC)
• Community Health and Development (CHAD) program for prenatal care of mothers, health care and nutrition of children under five, and morbidity, mortality and migration pattern of the community.

As coordinator, my job included the maintenance of the Health Information System of a rural community with a population of 100,000 for the CHAD program and leprosy patients for the LC program and supervising an Epidemiologic study. Specifically, my job involved

• Development of Questionnaires for Survey
• Creation of data-entry templates
• Supervision of Data Collection by Community Health Workers and Data Entry by operators
• Data Management using consistency checks
• Data analysis using SPSS
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports
