Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT)


The BOT is a 4.5-year degree program, including a compulsory internship, that prepares students to help individuals with disabilities or injuries to achieve independence in their daily lives. The curriculum combines medical sciences with specialized training in therapeutic activities and interventions for physical, mental, and developmental conditions.(Under KUHS Affiliation Process)

Course Title

Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT)


Duration

4 years plus a 6-month compulsory rotatory internship.


Aim

To prepare students to help clients achieve functional independence by using theoretical knowledge and practical skills.


Eligibility

Pass in Plus Two / Pre-degree or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Minimum age of 17 years.


Course Outline

  1. 1st Year: Anatomy, Physiology, Sociology, Psychology, and Introduction to Occupational therapy and Therapeutic Activities.
  2. 2nd Year: Pathology and Microbiology, Biochemistry and Pharmacology, Fundamentals of Occupational Therapy, Clinical Orthopaedics, Rheumatology & Radio Diagnosis, Clinical Neurology, Biomechanics, Applied Anatomy and Applied Physiology, General Medicine, General surgery, and Paediatrics.
  3. 3rd Year: Clinical Psychology Health Psychology and Clinical Psychiatry, Community Medicine, Basic Nursing and First Aid, Occupational Therapy in Psychiatry, Occupational Therapy in Paediatrics and Developmental Disabilities, and Occupational therapy in Orthopaedics and Neurology.
  4. 4th Year:Clinical Cardiorespiratory disorders and Work Physiology, Rehabilitation medicine, Occupational Therapy in Rehabilitation, Group process in Occupational Therapy, Organization Administration and Ergonomics in Occupational Therapy, and Biostatistics, Research methodology and Dissertation.
