Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology (B.Sc. MLT)

The B.Sc. MLT is a comprehensive four-year undergraduate program that trains students to become skilled laboratory technologists. The curriculum covers Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology, Hematology, and Immunology. Students learn to perform routine and advanced diagnostic procedures, operate and maintain laboratory equipment, and manage clinical laboratories. (Under KUHS Affiliation Process)

Aim

To train competent laboratory professionals with skills in clinical diagnostics, research assistance, and laboratory management.

Eligibility

A pass in +2 or equivalent with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Course Outline

  • 1st Year: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry-I, Basic Microbiology & Immunology, and Basic Medical Laboratory Science & Haematology-I.
  • 2nd Year: Biochemistry-II, General Microbiology, Parasitology & Entomology, and Haematology-II & Clinical Pathology.
  • 3rd Year: Biochemistry-III, Bacteriology, Cytology & Transfusion Technology, Computer Application, Research methodology, Biostatistics & Laboratory management.
  • 4th Year: Biochemistry-IV, Mycology, Virology & Applied Microbiology, Histotechnology & Cytogenetics.
