Master of Hospital Administration (MHA)


The MHA is a two-year postgraduate degree designed for individuals seeking leadership roles in healthcare management. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics including healthcare finance, human resources, hospital planning, and quality management. The program aims to develop skilled administrators who can effectively manage the complex operations of modern healthcare facilities. (Under KUHS Affiliation Process)

Duration

2 years (4 Semesters).


Aim

To develop skilled administrators for practicing in hospital settings.


Eligibility

A regular Bachelor's degree in health sciences (MBBS, BDS, B.Sc Nursing, etc.) OR a regular Bachelor's degree in science, Arts, Commerce, Law, Engineering or Management with at least 50% marks.


Course Outline

  1. 1st Year: Principles and practice of management & Human Resource Management, Public health administration and epidemiology, Research Methodology & Biostatistics, and Basic Medical Sciences.
  2. 2nd Year: Hospital Planning & Administration, Organisational Behaviour & Managerial Communication & HIS, Medical records & Medical equipments, and Financial and Management Accounting & cost accounting.
  3. 3rd Year: Hospital Administration, Marketing for Healthcare Services & Strategic Management, Operations Research, and Basic and Health Economics & Hospital Finance.
  4. 4th Year: Materials Management & Quality in Healthcare, Legal Framework for hospitals and Medical ethics, Hospital Project, and Project defence and Viva voce.
